Description

INCI: Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil
  • Great alternative to almond oil
  • High vitamin E content
  • Great moisturizer in cosmetic products

The apricot tree grows between 8 to 12 meters tall and can withstand extreme winter frost when healthy. Each tree produces between 10 to 100 kg of fruit annually, depending on cultivation. Harvesting occurs once a year, typically between June and August.

Turkey leads global apricot production, accounting for around 20% of the annual yield. To produce apricot kernel oil, manufacturers use the seeds inside the fruit. These kernels contain about 45% oil and undergo a process similar to almond oil production. The oil is extracted through mechanical pressing, ensuring a high content of oleic acid and excellent oxidative stability.

In the cosmetics industry, apricot kernel oil is a great alternative to almond oil. It works well as a base oil for sensitive skin, spreads smoothly, and absorbs quickly. The remaining cake expeller serves as animal feed, ensuring efficient use of all materials across different industries. This product is also available in organic-certified quality.
